Home » Walk to School Week
It has been the hottest Walk to School Week on record and the sunshine brought out the smiles on the children who were given the opportunity to walk a little distance to School each day!
There has been a good turnout, with 50% of children walking overall – Year 6 achieved 73%,Year 5 59% and a great effort from Year 3 with 53%. In the House competition, Barnado and Jenner shared top spot with 186 walkers, with Brunel on 173 and Seacole on 149. Well done to all of the children and parents who walked this week!
It has been a busy week, with our Year 5 Footsteps Training on Monday afternoon and the manning of the Speed Camera outside of School on Thursday. The camera was picking up the speeds of cars as they drove up towards the School and Nicky, our PCSO, also took the opportunity to talk to drivers parking on the double yellow lines
The JRSOs have done a great job, arriving promptly at School and tallying the walkers each day; Mrs Bunting and her team have also been much appreciated in greeting walkers in the Link Road Car Park – thank you to all involved.
We say farewell to our Year 6 JRSOs very soon – so a final thank you to them for all of their hard work over the past year – Lucy, Charlie B, Matilda, Stanley, Oakley, Timo, Marcus H, Sophie, Marcus M, Shreeya, Thomas W and Cameron.
