Gateway School has a very lively and active parents association called ‘Friends of Gateway’ (FOG). It is run by a friendly bunch of parents and provides a strong social scene for many Gateway parents, offering a particularly warm welcome to children and parents that are new to the school and the area.
The primary aim of FOG is to run social events for the enjoyment of the parents and the children. The secondary aim is to run events for fundraising to benefit the school and the chosen charity, which is decided by the pupils each year. The charity for 2015/16 is Aylesbury Homeless Action.
A committee of officers oversees the running of the main school-wide events in theFOG calendar below with invaluable assistance from representatives from each year group (FOG year reps). These events include a Christmas Fayre, Quiz Night, Summer Fun Day and Summer Ball, as well as creative activities for the children, for example creating Christmas cards or Easter Egg cups. The FOG year reps will also organize other social activities specific to each year group.
Every parent with a child enrolled at Gateway automatically becomes a member of FOG and will be kept informed of any events or activities both by their FOG year reps and via regular “Latest News” updates to this webpage and the FOG Facebook page
All parents are welcome to attend any meetings and vote at the FOG Annual General Meeting.

Gateway School prides itself on its strong relationship with parents. The school will communicate directly with parents using email and the newsletter to inform parents of their latest news etc. The school operates an open door policy where parents can go and see members of staff to talk through any issues.
FOG and its representatives are not a portal for raising issues or complaints with the school. If, as a parent, you have an issue that needs to be raised this must be done directly with the school.
