Nurturing talents and interests during the holidays

Dear Parents

Having spoken to many children this week, it is clear they enjoyed their half term break holidays, taking part in a variety of activities, outings or holidays abroad. A number of children spent some of their holiday back at Gateway. As a school we are fully aware of the demands and pressures on our parents and aim to alleviate this through offering a service which enables children the chance to nurture their talents and interests whilst having fun in familiar surroundings. Relaunching our Holiday Club provision has been a key part of our School Development Plan – allowing us to further extend the range of opportunities we offer our pupils - and we are delighted with the feedback so far.

The Holiday Club is now being run and staffed by known Gateway staff which means that the children are well known and well cared for during their time with us. We are very grateful to Ms Atieno and her staff for creating a range of exciting and engaging activities, enabling the children to try new things and to further develop and explore their existing talents. They incorporate an active element to each day which is balanced by a completely different activity from another discipline. This might be art or craft, a science experiment or various fun challenges.

Ms Atieno is currently putting the finishing touches to the Easter programme. A talent show, an Easter Egg Hunt and Mini Masterchef are some of the activities confirmed and we look forward to sharing the full programme with you early next week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs La Farge
