We believe that a strong community connection enriches the educational experience and promotes a supportive network for children, parents, and staff alike. Our community oriented initiatives are designed to involve parents actively in the learning process and to strengthen the partnership between home and school.

In-30 Parent Workshops
We offer regular ‘In-30’ Parent Workshops that address topics of interest for parents. These thirty minute sessions are led by specialists, or our own knowledgeable staff and cover important subjects, such as internet safety, supporting reading and maths at home and other relevant themes. These workshops are a great way for parents to stay informed, develop new skills, and engage directly with the educators shaping their children’s futures.
Third Thursday Coffee Club
Every third Thursday of the month a coffee morning is held from 8am to 9am for parents to drop-in and chat with the Head Teacher and other members of the leadership team, or simply catch up with other parents. This opportunity further strengthens the school’s commitment to be a listening ear and dedicated partner in the education of children
Share My Work
Every term, parents are invited into the classrooms where the children share their work with them. This open house style event enables parents to see, firsthand, the progress and projects their children are proud of.
Parent Participation
We warmly welcome and encourage parents to contribute to assemblies or workshops, by sharing insights related to their professional expertise, or personal interests. This involvement enriches our curriculum and provides the children with a broader perspective on potential career paths and hobbies.
Thriving Parent Community - Friends of Gateway (FOG)
Our parent community plays a crucial role in our school. Through organising and executing our annual Christmas and Summer fairs, as well as various other events throughout the year. These events are key to building a vibrant, engaging community atmosphere that the children, parents, and staff all look forward to. All parents are welcome to join the committee, participate in events to whatever extent they wish, attend meetings, and vote at the FOG Annual General Meeting.
