Preschool - Summer fun

What a fantastic, fun-filled month it has been in Preschool! Even though the weather hasn’t been quite as Spring-like as we would like, it hasn’t dampened our moods.

We began May with loads of Coronation activities including crown-making, jewel pattern-making, bunting-decorating and singing the national anthem - it was such fun! The children enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch outdoors in the garden, complete with Coronation Chicken sandwiches, Union Jack flags and chocolate ice cream for pudding.

Our topic last half-term of Transport was a hit! We learnt about tractors, space rockets, trucks, boats, trains and cars and our transport activities have included sailing boats, making paper aeroplanes, exploring space and building 2D shape buses.

This half term our new topic is: Summer Fun! This will include learning about the ocean and sea creatures, summer holidays, weather, flying on an aeroplane and being safe in the sun.

Please continue to share any amazing learning experiences from home on Tapestry - the children love sharing these pictures with their friends and explaining what they have been up to.

There are lots of events happening this half term, including:

The Preschool Year Ahead Meeting will take place Thursday the 22June from 7 - 8pm and the Reception Year Ahead Meeting will be on the same day from 7:30-8:30pm.

We look forward to our Preschool Sports Day on Monday the 3 July. The children have been really enjoying practising for this and having fun doing a warm up run around the track.

On Tuesday the 4 July the Pre-Reception children will enjoy a Teddy Bears Picnic to aid in their transition to Reception in September.

We do hope our Pre-Reception parents will join us for our Preschool Celebration on Monday the 10 July where we will celebrate the Pre-Reception children leaving the Preschool and entering Reception in September with lots of songs and dancing and a little graduation ceremony!
