Reception take first… | Independent Primary School Buckinghamshire

Reception take first steps to become independent learners

It has been another successful week in Reception. The children are doing so well at remembering where their belongings go each morning. It has been lovely to see them already adapting to the school routines and taking their first step to becoming independent learners. Lunch in the school hall has worked very well and we have seen some really super table manners during this time. Well done boys and girls!

On Monday all children were very enthusiastic about sharing their weekend news and worked really hard at tracing, underwriting or copying the sentences into their books. We talked about taking great care when forming letters and leaving spaces between words to make our writing more legible.

Continuing our topic of ‘Journey’s’ the children enjoyed talking about the difference between a summer and winter holiday. They then sorted a variety of items into a winter or summer suitcase.

Notice for current parents: Can we also remind you that we are going on our first school trip on Friday 5th October to Bekonscot Model Village. As normal could your child come in in their uniform and we will put their school tracksuit top on them which will be at school from the day before. Your child does not need to bring in their red book bag, but they will need a clearly named packed lunch in a disposable supermarket carrier bag. Please keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
