Reception - Colour Monster, number bonds and outdoor fun

Reception has had an excellent first week back to school. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing, creating and writing.

For our English lessons this week we have been focusing on the story of ‘The Colour Monster’, a story about a monster whose feelings have been all mixed up. We’ve helped the colour monster to sort his feelings out by putting them all into different jars. This made the monster feel very loved!

In Maths, we have been revisiting and revising our very important Number Bonds to 10. We’ve done this through practical games, worksheets and investigating numicon as a class.

Outside of Maths and English, we’ve spent time in our shared garden, role playing cafes, exploring an animal habitat sensory tray and doing lots of construction and building in the conservatory. (And of course, we have been creating something very special for some very special people in our lives!)
