Reception explore the world of dinosaurs

Welcome back everyone, we hope you have had a super break. This half term our topic focus is ‘dinosaurs’ and the children have already been learning lots of new facts and information. We have made our own dinosaur eggs, performed year group puppet shows and created 2D shape dinosaurs. Mrs Pyper brought to life the beginning and the demise of the dinosaurs with her amazing story telling. The classroom was dark, the atmosphere was set with music and the children were transfixed from beginning to end. This then inspired the children to make their own backdrops for their puppet shows. We have seen many children come back from the Christmas break really wanting to write independently which is fantastic. Any writing they do at home, please share with us on Tapestry as we would love to see it. Next Week we are focussing on ‘Chinese New Year’. We will be exploring food, writing and culture.
