Reception focus on animals this week
Animals have been the focus this week in Reception. We have enjoyed talking about our own pets at home and how we care for them. We thought about the responsibilities we have to look after our pets, from feeding them, walking them, cleaning them and taking them to the vets if they are poorly. It was fun meeting the snails from Pre-School and we had to make sure we handled them quietly and with great care. On Wednesday we had a really interesting visitor in our assembly; a beekeeper who came to talk to us about the importance this tiny insect plays in the preservation of our planet. We just loved seeing so many impressive bee costumes on World Book Day on Thursday and we were certainly buzzing around all over the place! We used the BeeBots to think about giving concise and accurate directions and then had a go at being BeeBots ourselves outside. We enjoyed giving our partner instructions and had a great challenge of being able to move from A to B without getting lost!
Our super exhibition of all our Take One Picture work is now up in the hall and we can’t wait for you to see all of our hard work from two very fun and extremely busy weeks at school.
