Reception have fun measuring with playdough

What a lovely start of the week, it was great to see so many of you able to make it to our Guidance session on Monday evening. We hope you found the information useful. If you have any feedback we would be glad to hear about it.

This week has really flown by! We were busy working on our letter and number formation. In our Maths lessons we were learning about length. We had great fun making playdough snakes and ordering them according to their lengths. We were getting really good at describing the length too using mathematical vocabulary i.e. long, longer the longest or short, shorter and the shortest, etc. We have also used non standard measuring units to see how long some of the objects in our classrooms are. We found that our Maths challenge table is 8 felt pens long!

This week Science lesson was all about healthy eating. We discussed what we should eat in our diet. We loved feeding our robot with healthy food and setting up our very own restaurant where we served lots of different vegetables and fruits. Reception have had a fantastic first half of term and are really excited to share lots of their hard work with you. Have a fabulous half term holiday. We cannot wait to hear all about your adventures!
