Reception - ice… | Independent Primary School Buckinghamshire

Reception - ice experiments and subtraction

This week the children’s knowledge of the world has continued to expand through their investigations about ice. The children helped the Ice Queen to rescue her jewels using experiments to melt ice. They came up with super ideas and had lots of fun putting their ideas into practise, using spoons, warm water and even the radiator to melt the ice. The children have learnt about the Arctic and the Antarctic and some of the animals that live there. In Maths the children have been learning about subtraction and have been demonstrating their understanding by subtracting with objects and through drawing and completing subtraction number sentences.
