Reception have a go at constructing tunnels

We have been continuing to enjoy this glorious weather, which has enabled the children to do lots of outdoor learning. The children have been making obstacle courses in the garden and practising their balancing and coordination skills and have explored forest school.

In Maths, the children have been learning to recognise and write numerals and we have introduced the language of smallest and largest numbers.

The children have also been learning about the differences between tunnels and bridges and have had a go at constructing their own tunnels using sand and lolly sticks.

In Phonics, the children have been learning to orally segment cvc words like t-a-p tap and j-a-m jam, with the help of Fred Frog.
