Reception - What an egg-citing week

We’ve had yet another busy week in Reception, bursting with Easter and spring-themed activities. We have made Easter cards, rabbit hats, mixed-media chicks and rabbits, had an Easter Egg hunt and discussed seasonal changes.

But the highlight of our week was hosting our own Restaurant afternoon - Tiger, Tiger - inspired by the ‘Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr. Prior to the role-play afternoon we created all sorts of things to make our restaurant experience authentic, we decorated our own custom plates, wrote menus and even invitations for a special guest.

We made a list of all of the roles needed to make a real restaurant wonderful and all of the children took it in turns to take on the various jobs. We had chefs, a washing up team, waiters, customers and even a chauffeur!

It has been a fun-filled end to a very exciting term!
