Year 1 - How do you make a jam sandwich?

If you ask any of the Year 1 children they will be able to give you the instructions to make a jam sandwich. We learnt that recipes and instructions use “bossy” verbs to tell us what to do at each step. We gave each other clear instructions as we took it in turns to make the jam sandwich. Finally, we were able to eat and enjoy our sandwiches while we listened to the story, “Pass the jam Jim.” Year 1 are preparing for their stall at the summer fair by learning all about money! This week we have been buying toys by adding coins to make the correct amount.
