Year 1 - Pig houses, weighing and potatoes
It has been fantastic to have our classrooms filled with enthusiastic and happy Year 1 children this week. We are back into our routines and enjoying being together.
In English we have been reading different versions of The Three Little Pigs using actions and drama to retell the story. We used our knowledge of the story to develop a DT project where we have designed and built the first little pig’s house of straw and next week will move onto building the other houses using different materials.
In Maths we have been comparing the weight of different objects and using our weighing skills to solve problems.
In our Forest School session we have been investigating the plants around the school grounds and we even planted our own potatoes which we hope to cook later in the year.
