Year 2 go on a minibeast hunt

On Tuesday morning this week, the rain managed to hold off enough for us to enjoy our Junior Sports Day. It was lovely to see so many of you joined us for one of THE top sporting events on the 2019 calendar! The children demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, cheering for their teammates and congratulating each other on their brilliant efforts. It was wonderful to see such excellent sporting skills in running, jumping, balancing and throwing. Both classes in Year 2 worked their socks off during a nail-biting obstacle race, the super sack race and a rather competitive relay race. A lovely morning was had by all and a huge thank you to the PE staff for all their efforts in preparing the children for the event.

This week in Forest School, the children have also been out minibeast hunting in the beautiful sunshine. They used their scientific knowledge to consider where each minibeast might be living and worked together to spot them. We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of some butterflies, ladybirds, worms, beetles and spiders. We wonder what else can be found in your gardens at home?

Next week, the children and teachers are un-BEE-lievably excited to perform their end of year production for you. We look forward to seeing you on Friday!
