Year 2 imagine a trip to the seaside

This week Year 2 have been enjoying taking a trip to the seaside in their minds. Drawing on their own memories of seaside holidays they have taken in the past and using the wonders of technology to tour a variety of seaside locations the children have been using all of their senses to describe the experience. Using a variety of adjectives to describe the taste of ice cream, the feeling of wet sand between their toes and the sound of seagulls to showcase their wonderful imaginations.

In art this week the children had to look closely at sunflowers and explore their colour, shape, and texture. They had to experiment with collage techniques and create their own art inspired by sunflowers, using affordable, readily available materials, with a focus on using the materials to express their interpretation of sunflowers. Well done Beatrix, you produced lovely work.
