Year 3 children are set a construction challenge inspired by Ancient Greece
Following a lesson on Greek architecture, where the children found out about the different types of columns used to build temples in Ancient Greece, they were set a challenge. Using only one piece of A4 paper and two small pieces of sellotape, can you build a structure that will support the weight of at least three reading books?
The children worked in groups of three to investigate the best method. They thought carefully about how to fold or roll the paper. Twenty one is the long standing record! Can you beat it? You could have another go at home. How many books can you support on one piece of A4 paper. E-mail your pictures. We would love to see how well you do.
