Year 3 children engage in the Genius Hour
During the closure of school on a Monday afternoon, the children in Year 3 have been able to choose from a variety of different activities. This lesson is called the Genius Hour because the activities cover all areas of the curriculum, which means that the children are able to choose an activity that they feel they are confident with. The activities are fun, challenging and engaging and the children can either complete them in an afternoon or over the course of the week.
Some of the activities require the children to collect items whilst out on a walk (leaf art) or use household items such as salt (growing crystals). One required the children to research, plan and then make their own biscuit tin garden, whilst another just got the children to think about acts of kindness that they could do for members of their family. It has been very popular with the children as there is always something for everyone.
