Year 3 enjoy our St Lucian day

What a week Year 3 have had! We began the week with a fantastic rendition of Shepherd Little. I am sure you will all agree that the children put on a tremendous performance, singing with gusto and reciting their lines confidently and clearly. Who would have thought that many of them only joined Gateway in September?

The week has ended with our St. Lucian day. The children all came in looking very colourful a ray of sunshine on a cold winter day! The children enjoyed a range of activities that drew on the learning from this term. They worked on their map skills to try and find clues around the school that would give them the password to unlock the pirates treasure chest.

This first term has been very different for all the children and they have all been working very hard and are very tired. Please take the time this holiday to relax, enjoy family time and recharge ready for the spring term. With this in mind we haven’t set any formal homework over the holiday. If you feel that you really want your child to be doing some school work then please focus on reading and learning times tables.
