Year 3 learn about the impact of hurricanes
As part of this terms Topic, St Lucia , this week we researched Hurricanes in the Caribbean and the impact they have on the people and the environment. We looked at what precautions you would need to take if you lived in St Lucia and were unlucky enough to experience a hurricane.
In groups we had to prioritise which items we would need to keep us safe. This involved using good communication skills in order to listen to and consider other people's opinions, as well as justifying our own opinions, before coming to a joint decision .
We also discovered when researching that the last hurricane to hit England was in 1987!
