Year 4 - A cracking week
A great sigh of relief this week as we watched our chicks hatch after 21 days in the incubator. We have been diligently turning the eggs three times a day (Mrs Kemp did it at the weekends.) This term our science topic has been moving and growing. Although we enjoyed watching the frog spawn become tadpoles which then developed into baby frogs, they are not cuddly like day old chicks. The chicks have responded to the warmth of our hands and careful touch by falling asleep. We have already become very fond of them, giving them names and hoping that they will not grow up. Not all the eggs actually hatched so we could share useful thoughts about life and death and why, in nature and our natural world, not everything has a successful outcome. It has been a lovely way to end a challenging year.
