Year 6 - shining a light on hand hygiene

We are all too aware of the need to wash our hands at the moment and the staff at Gateway are always encouraging the children to wash their hands thoroughly.

Many of the children prefer to use hand gels as they see this as a much quicker and easier method. Today year 6 had a surprise before lunchtime . . . a hand inspection cabinet!

All the children used the ‘glitter bug potion’ on their hands first and then some children were sent to wash their hands with soap and water and some used hand gel. They then put their hands in the hand inspection cabinet, which revealed any areas that they had been missed during the ‘cleaning’ process. The results were very interesting!
