Year 6 - marvellous Missenden woodland walk
On Monday morning, the heavens opened and Year 6 wondered whether their postponed woodland walk would be postponed once more. However, luck was on our side, the rain stopped and we were able to set off for Angling Spring Woods. By the time we reached the woods, having glimpsed Roald Dahl's home, Gypsy House, on the way, the sun was shining through the trees. The children had a magical hour exploring the woods, spotting lichen, beech masts, ferns and fungi, slugs and snails and even a startled Muntjac deer. The children are now full of ideas for their descriptive writing. After the walk, we all came to the same conclusion: we should do this more often!
