Reception children write to Father Christmas
11th December 2015
The children have worked extremely hard in their first term in Reception. We would like to say a very big ‘well done’ to all the children for their hard work which certainly paid off in the Christmas production. As teachers, we were very proud and we are certain as their parents you were too! If any of you took a video on the day we would love to see it. The children have been bubbling with Christmas excitement this week and we are all looking forward to a well deserved break. We have been really pleased to see the children wanting to have a go at writing their own letter to Father Christmas using their phonic knowledge taught so far this year. We all enjoyed getting into the festive spirit on our last day of term when we wore our fantastic Christmas jumpers and enjoyed our delicious Turkey dinner!
In the new year please can you now say goodbye to your child at the classroom door. All of the children are familiar with their morning routine to get ready for the day ahead and we are really wanting to encourage their independence. Thank you for your understanding.
In the Spring Term our first topic will be ‘Dinosaurs’. Definitely a firm favourite for many of the children. You might like to go to the local library, the Natural History Museum, or do some research on the internet at home. Over the first six weeks we will be covering things such as breeds of dinosaurs, eating habits, fossils and paleontology.
