Reception go on a time travelling adventure

We started off a very busy week using our imaginations! In groups we went on a time travelling adventure and through role play visited some fantastic places including dinosaur world, fairy land and even the North Pole! It was really amazing to see all of the children so involved in this activity, through their actions, language and facial expressions. We really believed we were actually hiding from a T-Rex, Pterodactyl spotting through our magic binoculars and looking closely at hatching dinosaur eggs. This activity sparked some great ideas for story writing and on Wednesday the children then worked on their own imaginative stories, focussing on the beginning, middle and end structure. It is fantastic to witness many children having a go at independent writing and maybe over the half term you might like to encourage your child to write a little bit of holiday news to bring in for their My Best folders and show and tell for the first week back.We wish you a healthy and happy half term and look forward to hearing all about the holiday activities on our return.
