Year 5 describe what they see in 'Orpheus'
26th February 2016
In Art, Year 5 have started looking at our ‘Take One Picture’ painting, ‘Orpheus’ by Roelandt Savery. They amazed me with their creative ideas, describing where they thought the painting was set, why the animals might be gathering and what they could smell and hear in the painting. They then focused on the ruined building in the background of the picture and we pondered on what it might be and what you might find inside. Over the next few weeks the children will be making their own ruined buildings and will be designing and making what they think might be hidden away behind the walls! I can’t wait to see their imaginative results which will be on display in the Take One Picture’ exhibition in March.
