Under 9 Football v Davenies (H) - Tuesday 30th January

On Monday 30th January, Gateway fielded 3 football teams against Davenies C, D and E teams and won each match very comfortably. The boys played some very promising passing football and in hindsight could have pitched themselves against the stronger Davenies teams

On Wednesday Y6 A played Davenies A Team drawing 1-1; they then went on to play Davenies B team winning this fixture 2-1.

The Year 6 B team played very well against Davenies C team, winning very comfortably. In this match the boys scored a great goal which saw the ball travel from one end of the pitch to the other, goalie to goal, in little more than 7 passes; a stunning move!

After this match and with the team swapping their ‘normal’ positions, they went on to beat Davenies D team in style. Again, it was a shame that the boys were not able to play against stronger opposition but this is often a tricky process when playing against larger, local boys’ schools and trying to select an equal standard.
