EYU - What a busy week!

Well what a busy week in EYU! On Tuesday we all went down to the Armistice Remembrance assembly. The children behaved beautifully observing the one minute’s silence. The children then helped to place a cross in our remembrance garden. Back in the classroom the children enjoyed participating in a variety of activities for example making poppy wreaths, a field of poppies using finger paints and learnt about why we wear poppies. On Friday we welcomed some new families into EYU for them to experience the fun for themselves, many of them will be joining us throughout the year. The EYU children looked lovely dressed in their Superhero outfits to raise money for Children in Need. Lewis and Alexander have been sponsored by their friends and family to dress up today and have raised an amazing amount of money. Also they have helped Mummy to bake Pudsey cookies to give to their friends. The EYU teachers would like to say a huge thank you to Sheena at Daisy’s flowers for the wonderful headdresses we wore in remembrance of our ‘hero’ Mrs Henson-Derby.

Next week we are hoping to have a visit from Mrs Bailey and Jenson, Dillon’s baby brother. We have observed a lot of mums, dads and baby role play so this visit will reinforce their understanding.

At home to link in with talking about families you may like to discuss with your child similarities and differences in relation to friends and families for example hair, eye colour.

We are pleased to welcome back our student teacher, Miss Soonam, who will be working with small groups of children in the nursery alongside Mrs Szulc.
