EYU enjoy the snow!

This week we saw the long awaited snow which proved exciting for the children. To make the most of the experience we all donned waterproofs, wellies and warm clothes and ventured out to the school field. The children loved playing in the snow, following our story this week (The Gruffalo’s Child) the children spotted foot prints in the snow which we decided were from a fox. The children worked together to build a snow Gruffalo but most exciting of all was throwing snowball at their teachers, making snow angels, even tasting the snow! We also had a go at sledging using a large tray which did not work too well even Mrs Morey had a go!

From the story this week the children have enjoyed exploring science through cake baking and decorating the cake as a Gruffalo. They have acted out the story using masks they have made and dressing up clothes. Clay was on offer for the children to make clay models. Hudson was very pleased with his ‘Transformer Gruffalo’.

Next week’s story is ‘The Princess and the Wizard’. If you have the book at home you may like to read it with your child.

We are now venturing out every Friday afternoon, for our forest activities. Please make sure your children have the correct clothing for theses activities, warm clothes, wellington boots and waterproof all in ones or jacket and trousers.
