EYU Meet the Animals

On Friday 9th May, prospective and current children and parents, for Reception 2014, were invited to a special ‘Meet the Animals’ morning.

Everyone who attended the animal presentation had a fantastic time. The children were enthralled and were very brave, much more so than some of the teachers! We saw a wide variety of animals and reptiles and the children all had a chance to touch and hold some amazing creatures including a bat, an armadillo, a meerkat and a lizard.

As well as seeing some fascinating creatures, it was a lovely chance for the Reception teachers to meet with some of the parents and children.

After the animal session we returned to EYU for tea, coffee and a snack, and another chance to have a chat with parents and teachers. This allowed the younger children in EYU an opportunity to go and meet the animals too and we had some very excited children expecting to see a dinosaur or an elephant! Although we did not manage to see these creatures, everyone was delighted to see some fantastic exotic animals. All of the children were very brave and touched and held most of the animals, even the snake!
