EYU read the story 'Little Red Hen'

To finish our Harvest topic this week we have read the story ‘The Little Red Hen’. The children have discussed the ingredients needed to make bread and where they come from. The children have also discussed how the Red Hen felt sad when the animals were unkind to her. They talked about how nice it is to share with our friends. The children then had a go at making their own bread, mixing the ingredients and kneading it, leaving it to prove taking it home to cook and enjoy sharing with their family!

Next week we will be exploring the outside environment, looking for signs of Autumn. We will be searching for conkers, fir cones and Autumn leaves on the school grounds and in the local community.

At home you may like to go on your own nature walk and create collages, display your finds on the nature tables or bring in any collections to show in EYU.

We look forward to seeing many of you on Monday 13 October for our EYU activities evening.
