Football Update - Monday 9 October

Monday afternoon produced contrasting fortunes for the Year 5 and 6 teams.

The Year 6 boys put in another strong performance, winning very comfortably against a ‘depleted’ Prestwood side, affected by injury and sickness. Well done to Henry G and Hugh P who both scored hat-tricks and the other scorers.

Year 5 travelled to Chalfont St Peter in their 2nd cup match.The tried valiantly to close down the opposition but struggled to cope with their speed, individual skill and slick passing moves which saw Chalfont create chance after chance. Gateway raised their game in the 2nd half, defending defiantly but eventually leaked more goals; sinking their chances of progressing to the next round of the cup.The boys return to school disappointed but knowing they had learnt some valuable ‘lessons’ from this fearsome encounter.
