Gateway v Chartridge, Wednesday 22 April

Gateway v Chartridge, Wednesday 22 April

On Wednesday 22nd, the U10 football team headed to Chartridge Combined School for the semi-final of the South Bucks Cup. An unbelievably good game unfolded with end to end football being played. Both teams demonstrated some tough tackling, skills and shooting and after full-time the score was 1 -1, meaning a period of extra time. Despite tiredness, the fast pace of the match continued and both teams had chances to win. However, defences and goalkeepers held firm to ensure that it would be decided by the dreaded penalty shoot-out (not good for Mr Judge's heart...). Both teams had chances to win but some strong goalkeeping meant that we were well into sudden-death when Chartridge scored the decisive goal. The boys should be really proud of their efforts, Mr Grosse certainly was, and will be looking forward to playing the same team in Year 6!

Squad: James G, Jack W, Alex P, Cormac N, Sam M, Hector C, Brandon NT, Harry S, Guy J.
