Girls Football v Great Missenden - Thursday 3 March

The second fixture in a week for the Year 6 girls football team was against Great Missenden in the league. Once again, the girls couldn't be faulted for their enthusiasm and almost took an early lead when the tireless Roisin G hit the post, the ball trickling across the line and away to safety. An end to end game ensued, with Tilly W and Hannah W winning possession for the team on numerous occasions and Jess J excelling in goal. Both teams had their chances but at the end of the first half, the score was 0 - 0. The second half saw much of the same until Great Missenden broke free and scored an excellent goal. Gateway continued to press the opposition goal but couldn't find their way through, conceding a second goal when drawn out of position to try and find the equaliser. The girls continue to improve and are already looking forward to the next fixture.
