Give a Bear a Home
1st December 2017
In the last week of school the School Council, with the help of Mrs Gauntlett have organised a teddy Bear Orphanage. Children have been asked to bring in a teddy that is no longer loved or wanted by themselves or members of their family. If they do not have a bear to donate, then perhaps they could buy one from a charity shop at a small cost? There are plenty of unwanted bears needing new, loving homes this Christmas! Some of you may have seen the article about all the 'lost bears' at Heathrow airport!
The idea is that,on the last Thursday of term, we will open a teddy orphanage and children will be able to take home a bear they think they or someone else can love this Christmas, for a donation of £1. Children who bring in a bear will be given a teddy token to collect their new bear.
The money will be divided up amongst our 2 school charities for this year, Shelterbox and Rosie’s Rainbow.
The children are very engaged with the idea and we hope that, this weekend, you may be able to climb up into that attic and retrieve those poor bears and we will find them a new home!
