Harvest Assembly
9th October 2020
We enjoyed a recorded assembly from Mr Dyson. He also shared a video link with us about his farm and you can watch it here. A big Thank you to all parents for your generous harvest donations. The collection of food has gone to the Chiltern Food Bank. They operate five food banks across Bucks from Aylesbury to the Chalfonts. They have been placed under particular pressure during the pandemic and were delighted we were able to support them again this year.
About
“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
School Council
Our school council have nominated some local charities such as The Chiltern Food Bank to our one of our school charities this year. The children will be voting on our final choice before half-term.
