House Football Y3-6 Totals

Every child from Yr 3 - 6 who wasn’t ill or injured and had the right equipment (boots/ shin pads) was involved in this year’s House football competition; held on site and at Prestwood Sports Centre between the 10th-23rd January. The teams were mixed girls/boys and all teams played 3 games, against the other Houses, in matches lasting 8-15 mins, depending on age and time available in lessons. There were 42 matches in total!

There were some fantastic performances, with lots of individual skill as well as plenty of great teamwork. There was some thrilling play, fierce tackling, super shots, and saves, with games full of goalmouth scrambles and heart stopping moments!

This year, Jenner won 5 of the 8 leagues but only finished 6 pts ahead of Brunel who also performed strongly across the age groups. The children all enjoyed playing and learning a little more about competitive football; it was a real pleasure to watch and referee these matches. Well done to all those who participated and showed great effort and sportsmanship throughout.

It should be noted that a few children did not have their shin pads, despite constant reminders, and were unable to help their House to maximise their points tally.
