House Poetry
11th November 2016
Mrs La Farge, Mr Grosse, the other Mrs Kemp and I have had a really enjoyable week listening to the children from across the school presenting their poems. There have been some very confident and engaging performances, demonstrating lovely expression, varied tone and super diction. I was hugely impressed by the all of the reception children who had learnt The Toy’s Playtime by Tony Mitten so well. At the other end of the school, the year six children had all chosen their own poem and their performances were really amazing. I was very proud of them all and reflected on their increased confidence, maturity and engagement with the words. Public speaking is a life skill which many do not find easy but the children rose to the challenge, overcame any nerves and many said that they had enjoyed the experience. Special mention to the following children who gave memorable performances - Elsie P, Oscar B, Jemima L, Moosa Q, Oliver S, Rufus H, Joseph R, Serena D-T, Cally W, Isobel S, Charlotte K, Zac C, Jack S, Lottie B, Millie G, Zach C, Fraser J, Harry V, Sophia H, Nathan S, William F, Maya W, Sam B, Savarnah P, Bea N, Chloe R, Felicity B, Amber O, Imogen C, Marcus H, Cameron W, Abi H, Lucy A, Noah L, Ross M, Joss B, Jemma T.
