ISA National Art Competition - Update from Mrs Mock

It seems a long time ago now that we entered the ISA National Art Competition back in December. It was a difficult task to choose just one piece for each category amongst the fabulous work of the many talented artists we have in school.

George’s (Year 3) vibrant painting of a parrot in acrylic on canvas was entered into the 2D class; Harry’s (Year 4) detailed pen and wash study of a dragonfly was entered into the KS2 drawing section and Arlo’s (Year 5) mixed media self portrait took its place in the KS2 3D class. I am proud to announce that, although we did not win a class this year, Emilia’s (Year 5) sensitive watercolour painting of ‘ A Stag in the Snow’ was highly commended in the Year 5 & 6 2D category! Well done Emillia!

Don’t forget that this year we are entering the Royal Academy’s Art Competition. The lucky winner will have their artwork exhibited in the Royal Academy’s Young Artists’ Summer Show 2021 online and at the Academy in July.

The subject and the medium used is chosen by the children, so there are no limits to creativity! Artwork can be completed at home or school and can be sculpted, photographed, printed, painted or drawn!

If you would like to submit artwork, please send a jpeg of your art with its title, size and a little text about the artwork and why you made it to Mrs Mock.
Email to smock@gatewayschool.co.uk by the 25th April 2021.
