ISA North London 5-A-Side Tournament, 14 January 2016

On Thursday 14 January, 13 children participated in the ISA North London 5-A-Side tournament for Gateway A and B teams. The B side consisted of many of the Y5 squad but were bolstered by some more experienced Y6 team players. Both teams played 6 matches in the league section and the B team were unfortunate not to qualify for the knock out stages by just one point! The A team seemed to improve with each match, playing their best football against the stronger sides. They remain unbeaten, until reaching the final, having won 6 games and drawing 2.
In the final the boys gave everything but were finally out gunned by Gatehouse 'A' who were worthy winners (2-0) in a gruelling and fiercely contested match. All the squad can be proud of their excellent performance, behaviour and sportsmanship on the day; they were a credit to the school. The A team will progress to the National Finals, in March, where they will represent London North.
