ISA North London Girls Football, Wednesday 8 February

Two girls football teams travelled to Potters Bar on Wednesday for the annual ISA London North Girls Football Championships. The format was a round robin tournament where all 11 teams played each other - meaning lots of matches but some exhausted children by the end! The B team played some really lovely football, passing the ball into space wherever they could, winning three of their matches and drawing a further three. This was especially encouraging as many of them were from Year 5 and all the opposition teams were A teams. The A team battled through the tournament winning eight of their matches, drawing one (against our B team!!) and losing just once. This meant that they topped the table at the end of the day, bringing home the London North trophy as a result. As an added bonus, the tournament organisers awarded Abi H the player of the tournament. A fantastic achievement by all of the girls involved.

This also means that Gateway now holds the ISA London North Boys and Girls football trophies for 2017.

A team: Stephanie B, Isobel M, Zahraa B, Matilda B, Amelia O, Jemma T, Abi H

B team: Grace W, Amara PS, Eleanor W, Penny D, Emily B, Lucy A, Amber C
