Key Stage 2 General Knowledge Inter School Quiz Championship

On Thursday, our 2 General Knowledge Teams and Reserves travelled to Davenies School, Beaconsfield, to take part in the Inter School Quiz Championship.

The teams faced 40 wide ranging and challenging questions, including Art, History, Geography, Science, Mathematics, Music, Literature and many more. Seven Independent Schools were represented, with 12 very competitive teams in total.
Gateway 1 went into an early lead and held onto this until we reached the halfway stage.

From that point, Gateway 1 dropped a few points here and there, but Gateway 2 finished strongly. With all 40 questions completed, we found ourselves in 4th and 6th places respectively - missing out on 3rd and 5th by a mere 5 points each! All of the children can be very proud of their efforts and the way they conducted themselves. They were a credit to Gateway.

Team 2: Toby M (Yr 6), Ed B (Yr 5), Casper D N (Yr 4), Remy F (Yr 3)
Reserves: Chloe P (Yr 4), Isobel S (Yr 3)

Ali R, Oscar V B (Yr 6) and Gabriel R (Yr 5) also deserve a mention for attending practice sessions and encouraging the teams in the lead up to the Quiz, only to be unavailable on the day!

Thank you to all of the parents who came to cheer us on and who were on the edge of their seats a lot of the time; also to Mr Lloyd for accompanying us on the day. We shall give it our best shot again next year!
