Maths Competition
12th May 2017
On Friday Mrs Rowe and Mr Grosse took 8 boys (Marcus M, Jonty W, Joss K, Harry N, Dominic H, Felix P, Cameron W, all Year 6, and George C, Year 5) to Gayhurst to take part in a Maths competition. All of the boys had worked hard in preparation for the competition. We had only entered the first four boys in the competition, the others travelled as reserves, however on arrival they remaining four were offered the chance to compete, which they all were agreed to with great enthusiasm.
In all, eleven teams took part in the competition from a variety of local schools. The competition was hard fought with a strong performance from all teams. Our 'A' Team led for most of the competition but just missed out on full marks in a few of the final questions and came a very creditable third with 2160 points. They are now waiting to see if they will qualify, with one of the highest scores, for the next round. The ‘B’ Team also did very well scoring a very creditable 1565 points.
