National Science Quiz Championship
2nd December 2016
Last Friday, two teams from Year 5 and 6 took part in the local heat of the National Science Quiz Championship, which took place at Chesham Prep School. The questions were as challenging as ever, and typically, Mrs Izard and I were on the edge of our seats as both teams challenged for top spot.
With only a few of the 40 questions to go, our Team 1 were in the lead, only to see this slip away by the end. Team 1 finished in 3rd place, with Team 2 close behind in 4th place. All children did a fantastic job, working as a team and picked up certificates for their efforts.
The teams, and all of our 4 travelling reserves/supporters, gave up lunchtimes for practise sessions and gave their very best on the day - they can be very proud of their efforts.
I would like to thank all of the parents that came along to support - I'm sure that you all found it very exciting; also for the support from home - it seems that books came out for extra Science revision in a lot of cases!
Looking forward to next year's quiz already!
