Nursery children embrace the downpours

Nursery children embrace the downpours

It may have been a rainy weather week however, Nursery have embraced the downpours. We have spent time exploring volume and capacity using water, had fun jumping in puddles whilst singing 'Rain, rain go away' and playing rain shakers.

The children have been exploring rhyming words and making up their own rhymes. We have listened to lots of rhyming stories, Hairy Maclary from Donaldson Diary and Room on the Broom were definite favourites. The children were challenged to remember the words that rhymed in the story.

Following on from this we had great fun participating in Cosmic Kids yoga. Have a look on your computers at home and you will discover story telling coming to life!

Next week we will be focusing on the properties of 2D and 3D shapes especially heart shapes. We will be talking about kindness and empathy towards others in preparation for Valentine’s day.
