Nursery children have been 'making a list and checking it twice!'

Nursery children have been busy discussing Christmas and the toys that they would like Father Christmas to bring them. We have had lots of imaginative letter writing and we are sure Father Christmas is going to be delighted with the letters he receives. We were very impressed with the children's efforts when writing their names.

The children have investigated where Father Christmas lives and learned facts about his country and the animals that live there too. Lots of mess has been made playing with fake snow and building sugar cube igloos. Dolphin group challenged themselves to see who could use the most sugar cubes!

Next week we are going to be thinking about how some children are less fortunate than us at Christmas time. We would like the children to choose a toy from home that they no longer play with and bring in into Nursery. We are then planning to take the collected toys, with the children, to our local charity shop. We will be talking about how it feels to give as well as receive and how happy we can make other children feel.
