Pupils from EYU to Year 1 have raised £1000 from their latest fundraising endeavour, for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The children took part in a sponsored, muddy obstacle course within the school grounds, to raise funds for the charity which provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families while their child is in hospital.

Pupil Liberty Williams, recently spent time in hospital and her family, including brother Toby who also attends Gateway School, were keen to fundraise for Ronald McDonald House Charities as a thank you for the support that they received.

Watched and supported by parents and teachers, the children took part in a wide range of activities and skills on the day.

Mrs Sue La Farge, Headteacher, said: “We are very pleased to have supported Ronald McDonald House Charities. The children had a wonderful time completing the sponsored obstacle course and have all enjoyed making their donations, in the knowledge that they are helping others."

“Fundraising and learning about charities is an important part of life here at Gateway School and our pupils really benefit from understanding the needs of people who are supported by charities such as Ronald McDonald House Charities. Many thanks to all of the parents and families who have donated so generously to this worthy cause.”
