It has been a long time since we have been able to say that it has been another busy week of fixtures but it’s great that we now can.

U11 Mixed Cricket v Gayhurst

On Thursday we welcomed three teams from Gayhurst for mixed (boys and girls) Cricket matches and we were able to field all of our Year 6 cohort against them. The bowling that was on display enabled competitive contests to take place across all of the matches which is credit to how far the children have developed. Batting is an area for development for us and Gayhurst were more experienced in this area which enabled them to take a clean sweep of narrow wins. This was the final opportunity for our current Year 6 to represent Gateway and they did us proud, as they have done throughout their time here. We wish them all the best in their future sporting ventures.

U8 Girls Cricket v Pipers Corner

A day after Year 6 had played their last fixtures for Gateway, the Year 3 girls embarked on the start of their journey. They all travelled to Pipers Corner with Miss Gallop and Mr Kerry and participated in fun, evenly matched games of Cricket. Both of the teachers reported that the girls' Cricket skills are emerging well and their behaviour was exemplary. This was an excellent start point to build upon and we hope the children left enthused at the prospect of future fixtures.

U10 Girls Cricket v Pipers Corner

On Friday all the Year 5 girls are travelling to Pipers Corner for pairs Cricket. The review of this match will be in next week’s news.
