Travel to Tokyo - House competition

Last week we started our Travel to Tokyo virtual challenge and we have made huge strides already. We have covered over 16,000km as a school already according to the calculations on the Get Set Tokyo website and having now turned this into a house competition we have seen engagement level going through the roof. The scores at the time of writing are:

Seacole - 4948km

Jenner - 4,569km

Barnardo - 3,518km

Brunel - 2,606km

Please keep adding to your house total by selecting the house name from the dropdown menu when you log your exercise. Can we also ask you to remind the children that we are relying on them to be completely honest about the intensity and time of their exercise.

Remember you are allowed to include all exercise done by your family as long as you children have participated in it. Any pictures and videos are very welcome using our twitter handle @gateway2sport.

Turning setbacks into success

We were invited to join Downe House School Sport on Wednesday as they hosted an inspirational talk by Fontaine Wright who is an international Badminton player. It was great to hear that some of our Y5/6 children accepted the invitation and attended the event. Their feedback was very positive and therefore we will look to provide more opportunities like this should they arise in the future.

Active Gateway Live

Miss Gallop was centre stage for Active Gateway Live this week and her disco dance sessions went down an absolute storm. It was another opportunity for the community to come together and lovely to see some funky disco costumes and smiles on faces on another very active Friday.
